Gabe Hammett
Gabriel Hammett was born in Ventura in 1979, raised in Big Bear then moved down to the desert in 8th grade.  He started attending youth group, at what was then Living Stream Calvary Chapel, at the age of 13.  He has called Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel his home ever since.  After attending Yucca Valley High School for 3 years and then graduating from 29 Palms High School he served 4 years in the U.S. Army and is now a Federal Firefighter in Barstow and a High School Youth Minister at JSCC. 

      Gabe became a Christian at 7 years old but did not give his whole life to the Lord until 2004. A year later, due in part to his damaging “hearing only” walk as a Christian (James 1:22), he experienced the pain of divorce.  Coming thru that valley the Lord gave Gabe a determination to now be a “Doer” of the word.  He has been serving in men’s ministry, separated & divorced ministry, youth ministry since 2006 and couples ministry since 2008. 

      Gabe is married to Renelle (Conner) Hammett who has been in the youth ministry since 2005.  Nellie, born in the Low Desert and raised in the High Desert, is a hair stylist at a local salon.  The couple enjoy helping to raise his 2 boys and in their off time, when not hanging with the youth, they enjoy spending time with family, friends, being outdoors and traveling to new places.
